Review of Stoker Rules
Dan Perez hasn’t just crafted a good book; he’s created characters and a story that will hopefully carry forward into additional works. I thoroughly enjoyed the read! His characters are believable and have depth, and the story has legs. I look forward to any additional works that Perez might produce in this setting!

Review of Stoker Rules
I loved the characters, the story – everything! Perez has crafted a captivating, believable world in this book! So even if vampires aren’t your ‘thing’, I encourage you to give it a read! I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

Review of Stoker Rules
So much to love about the book! I was very drawn to the characters, the action and the Houston setting. It was easy to visualize the story and it was quite a page turner. I think there needs to be a sequel!

Review of Stoker Rules
What’s not to love about this book? It’s a fast-paced thriller with a hot vampire who teams up with a strong and spunky scientist on a hunt for a truly vile villain. Alex and Emelia have great chemistry. I’m ready for the next book in what I hope will become a long series – and my next obsession!

Review of Stoker Rules
A must read! Dan Perez did a fantastic job bringing the supernatural to the real world of Houston. The character development, storyline, and attention to detail will captivate you. I couldn’t put it down. Overall, a great read and I hope there’s more to come from Perez in this series.
Dan Perez – writer, hypnotist, sculptor and performer, has written a number of short stories, novels and self-help books. His fiction usually falls within the genres of science fiction and horror. Dan was founder of two influential workshops for fiction writers: The Gulf Coast Writer’s Workshop and The Tale Spinners. Dan lives in Houston, Texas with his dog Thor and some colorful tropical fish.
In Port Covenant, Texas, nobody gets bitten by mosquitoes. There hasn’t been a hurricane since the Calamity of ’62. The fishing and shrimping is abundant, the waters are calm, and rare shells wash up onto the beach from faraway oceans. And there is a rumor about a hidden beach cove festooned with gold.
Fourteen-year-old Ellie Morgan is skeptical of the boons. She’s curious about the perfectly circular tide pool on the beach — the one that forms a whirlpool at nightfall. She’s wary of the church her mother attends: Our Lady of the Tides.
Then Ellie notices a small patch of scales growing on her arm. Her young friends have them too. And the adults in Port Covenant don’t seem surprised at all.
The Tide Pool is a Lovecraftian coming-of-age horror novel in the tradition of Stranger Things and early Stephen King — where the scariest thing isn’t the eldritch mystery beneath the water. It’s the parents who already know it’s there.
