When Raen Embaril awoke from her 102-year long hypersleep as the sole survivor aboard the dreadnought Vindicator, she found she had lost everything in a war that ended a century ago. Now the victors of that war, Raen's old adversaries want to take her ship, by any means possible!
This science fiction adventure is set in The Near Expanses, which contains multiple starfaring empires.
One such empire is run by doglike aliens called Xicans, and Raen allies with some Xicans she rescues from their crippled mining ship in a remote area of space.
I wrote this novel many years ago, and it was strong enough to get me a respected New York agent at the time, but the book market was changing then, and she was unable to sell it.
I am currently doing a major rewrite on the book to make it better in as many ways as I can. I will post updates hereas the book comes together and nears publication.
