the way out -- The matrix video demonstration


In the video demonstration above, Dan shows you how to do a 3-step Matrix exercise and also a "mini Matrix."     

The Matrix  is a Neruo-Lingusitic Programming (NLP) exercise that incorporates a process called proprioception to create powerful positive changes. Follow the step-by-step directions to do the exercise once or more as needed each day.

Step 1: Imagine a rectangular virtual reality screen floating in front of you that fills up your field ov vision. Dan already helped you visualize this. You Matrix has two zones in it: a zone where you store the things you believe are true and a zone where you store the things you believe are false. Dan also helped you install a trash can icon. See the illustration below:

Step 2: Now scan your matrix for workaday worries and irritations, in the form of icons. You can visualize these icons however you like. Two examples follow:

Each icon represents something worrisome, irritating, or stressful. Some common examples follow:

Argument with partner or spouse
Kid misbehaved
That irritating co-worker or boss
Bills
Politics getting you down
Feeling lonely
Didn't get that raise
Car broke down/flat tire

...and so on. Note that there may be more than one icon for a particular thing (like two or three icons for a particularly irritating person, etc).

As you identify icons, reach up with your right or left hand, and use two fingers to sweep that icon down into the trash, just like you'd move an icon into the trash on your home computer.


Do the same with all the other negative icons until they are all in the trash. Then touch the trash icon with your finger and make a little sound with your mouth to empty the trash and delete those workaday worries and irritations. When you do this, notice that you feel better having gotten that stuff out of your system.

Step 3: Now scan your matrix for LIMITING BELIEFS. These are different from workaday worries in that they are negative or limiting beliefs you have about YOURSELF:


Some common examples of limiting beliefs follow:

I will never make the kind of money I'm worth
I will never meet someone to date or marry

I'm ugly/fat/old/stupid/shy/clumsy
People don't like me
I can't break free from anxiety/depression
I'm not good enough
I can't cope

...and so on. Limiting beliefs almost always start with "I" or "I'm." They also feature words like "never, won't, can't, don't, not..."

For each limiting belief you discover, reach up with both hands and "frame" it like this.

Now that you're framed it, grab it with one hand and move it into the zone where you believe things are false..

Once it's in the zone of things you know are false, LOCK IT IN with a twisting motion of your hand while making a click sound with your mouth.

Repeat this with any other limiting beliefs you find until they are all locked into the zone where you know things are false.

Again, notice how good this feels in your body and your mind. You are already making powerful changes with your imagination and physiology.

Step 4: Now it's time to install some POSITIVE beliefs about yourself.

Reach up and frame a POSITIVE belief you'd LIKE to have about yourself. This believe won't be pre-existing on your Matrix like negative beliefs...you are putting it there right now. Say out loud: "I am framing my belief that I am __________." Fill in the blank with your desired positive belief.

Some common examples of postive beliefs follow:

I will make the kind of money I'm worth
I will meet someone to date or marry

I'm beautiful/youmg at heart/smart/outgoing/a good person
People like me
I can EASILY break free from anxiety/depression
I'm good enough
I can easily cope

...and so on.

IMPORTANT: this is not the time for wishing or desires. Don't say, "I am the kind of person who will win the lottery." This is not a belief about yourself but an EXTERNAL DESIRE that you have. Your subconscious cannot affect external events like the lottery, which is completely random. It can only work to change YOU for the better.

Now that you're framed your positive belief, grab it with one hand and move it into the zone where you believe things are true.

Once it's in the zone of things you know are true, LOCK IT IN with a twisting motion of your hand while making a click sound with your mouth.

Frame as many positive beliefs about yourself as you want, then move them into the area where you know things are true and lock them in.

Again, notice how good this feels in your body and your mind. Your subconscious will begin to make changes to make these positive beliefs come true.

We're almost done!

Step 5: Now that your Matrix is clear, it's time to install your image/movie of the day.

Start by installing a still image, or a movie or even an animated GIF of you having the kind of day you want to have. Frame it with your hands at the center of your Matrix.

Now reach up with both hands and grasp the left and right edges of the image and stretch it out to the edges of your Matrix.


Now grab the top and bottom of the image and stretch it to fill up the Matrix screen.


Now this image or movie of GIF is like a filter through which you can see your day unfolding. It also serves as a blueprint for the rest of your day.

Notes: You can do the Matrix once or twice a day or even more if desired. Here's why:

Negative icons will begin to appear on your Matrix again as things happen to you. If something bad happens after you've done a full Matrix, just do what I call a Mini-Matrix and move the new negative icons into the trash and empty it.

Limiting beliefs will tend to re-install themselves on your Matrix over time. Eventually they will stay permanently in the area where things are false (this is a GOOD thing!).

Make sure you get your physiology involved. Really use your hands to frame and move stuff around as shown above. Make a little sound when the trash is emptied and when you lock a a belief into its proper zone on the Matrix.

Notice in your body and mind how much better you feel after doing this exercise!
