DAN PEREZ, AUTHOR & HYPNOTIST -- CALL 800-481-5949
In the video demonstration above, Dan uses the word anxious for the thought he is neutralizing with the 3-step mindfulness process. Remember you can substitute whatever you want for anxious. You can substitue "depressing," "angry," "fearful," "annoying," or whatever word best describes the thought.
What are the steps in tying your shoelaces? When was the last time you even devoted any thought to how you tie your shoelaces? It's an automatic process now, but it took some practice to get that way. The goal of mindfulness meditation is to practice it until it's second nature to you, and use it as a springboard to learn how to live mindfully every day! Mindfulness is a simple but powerful technique to avoid regrets in the past and worries in the future. With mindfulness you can learn how to be non-judgmental about distracting thoughts and thus live in the present moment (and that's a good place to be).
You can scroll to the bottom of this page and download your Mindfulness Meditation audio program in mp3 format.

Here are color diagrams from the book:
Mindfulness Practice 1: The Breathing Meditation. Your breathing keeps you in the present moment. And then an anxious, depressing or angry thought comes along.
Whenever you have an unwanted thought, just follow the three steps. Repeat for additional unwanted thoughts that occur.
Now you can graduate to being mindful all day long!
